Development
Less waiting, more Prairie
The launcher now downloads only changed game files. Update 1.0.1 was about 2.6 MB instead of another full game download.
A small fix should get you back to hunting, not back to a full download. The launcher now fetches only the files an update changes. For 1.0.1, that meant about 2.6 MB instead of another 1.1 GB.
A shorter road back in
Game and launcher downloads also moved to a worldwide delivery network. Our fresh-install test reached Play in 75 seconds; your connection and distance from the download server will vary.
Why we changed it
Our small team will be making many little changes while Xyra grows. We wanted those changes to feel small when you install them too. Next, we are continuing to make the release and repair paths clearer.
Small print
- Installed Windows launchers moved to the new download source on their next update.
- A first install still downloads the full game.
